Stoke on Trent Greek Orthodox Church of Ss Mary Chryseleousa & Marina / Ελληνική Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία Παναγίας Χρυσελεούσας & Αγίας Μαρίνας

Our Guide, The Word of God.
We represent a modest Greek Christian Orthodox Community, whose members, in conjunction with their priestly leader, strive daily with love, implementing the teachings of our Lord and God Jesus Christ. Our endeavours are numerous, encompassing the Greek School for the education of the Greek language and culture, and the Adult Dance Association for the instruction of dances from Greece and Cyprus, extending not only to the children and adults of our community but also to individuals irrespective of their religion, culture, and origin. Nonetheless, our initiatives primarily focus on aiding those outside our community, providing psychological, emotional, and financial support to individuals in genuine need. We supply essential products and items to low-income and large families, basic hygiene necessities to shelters for vulnerable individuals, and we offer several hours of warmth through food and hot refreshments to the homeless, in collaboration with local authorities at least bi-monthly. The primary objective of our community is to support individuals in need, irrespective of their religion or cultural background. We aspire to contribute positively to our neighborhood through collaboration with local entities.
Our foremost aspiration is to establish a monastery in our locality, designed to offer comprehensive aid to our local community, neighbors, and all those truly in need in the future. With divine guidance, this endeavor may ultimately be realized. Primarily, it shall function as a sanctuary for prayer and a refuge for emotional solace for all in need. The monastery will also serve, in addition to its role as a sanctuary for those in need, to provide opportunities for leisure, interaction with various animals, and engagement in horticultural activities for families and their children. Furthermore, we shall distribute locally sourced goods to individuals or families in need on a non-profit basis.
Until the aspiration of this modest community is actualized, its members and their clergy shall remain watchful, ensuring the provision of resources and psycho-emotional assistance to all, whether external or internal to the community.
