Troubleshooting, Upgrading, and Repairing Intel NAS SS4000 with Software 15
This is a strategy that exploits software's strong links with hardware, and one that will go well with the increased role for the cloud computing services that Intel's sales unit is expected to charge for.

At any rate, Rader's strategy may not be popular with the traditional software vendors who have always enjoyed supplying their apps on-premises. Both managed and un-managed software vendors are likely to fight back against this type of optimization, he acknowledges. But in the long run, it's the only route forward if we want to see a continued adoption of new hardware solutions, Rader says.
we're seeing a market shift. we're seeing the cloud, and we're seeing the cloud is going to be here for a long time, and people are going to be looking at the cloud. so intel is making the bet that they can take advantage of that shift in the market, and they will take it from there.
intel has the majority of the server market so they're making the bet that if there is a change in the market, they're going to win. and they're not going to give up easy, i don't see that happening. they will make the bet that they can take that position and go on and compete.
